In May 2025, Gorman & Company achieved a significant milestone for its new affordable housing project in central Denver. Coined The Tapestry, the development was awarded a competitive 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), the Colorado state affordable housing tax credit, and a Transit-Oriented Community credit, securing the critical funding needed to move swiftly toward construction.

Located in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood, just blocks from downtown, The Tapestry will deliver 72 thoughtfully designed apartment homes in the heart of Denver for low— to moderate-income families.

Key Features

  • A five-story development with 72 units ranging from 1 to 4 bedrooms
  • Will serve residents earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Includes an early childhood education center and an on-site health clinic, promoting lifelong learning and wellness
  • Located in a walkable, transit-connected area near jobs, services, and community amenities

“The Tapestry represents everything we believe affordable housing can and should be, beautiful, dignified, and deeply rooted in community”.

Building with Purpose

Gorman & Company is steadfast in its mission to provide affordable housing options that empower residents and strengthen neighborhood vitality. The Tapestry embodies this mission, combining accessible, well-designed homes for families, many of whom have been priced out of the area.

In addition, essential wraparound resources, such as education and wellness, promote long-term resident well-being and contribute to a better Denver all around.

As Denver continues to experience economic and population growth, equitable access to housing is critical. Projects like The Tapestry ensure that working families, educators, healthcare staff, and essential workers can continue to call Denver home.

A Collaborative Investment in Denver’s Future

The Tapestry results from strong collaboration among local, state, and private partners. These public-private partnerships are essential in building inclusive communities that reflect the diversity and aspirations of all Coloradans.
