The Town of Hayden, in partnership with Gorman & Company, secured an $8.6millon Transformational Housing Award for the Prairie Run workforce housing project. This award will enable Gorman and Company to construct 129 workforce housing units between 80% Area Median Income (AMI) and 160% AMI.

The Transformational Affordable (and Workforce) Grant Program, administered through a highly competitive process by the Division of Local Affairs, aims to provide funds and resources to assist eligible applicants in developing, creating, or preserving affordable housing opportunities within their communities.

The development will create 129 perpetually deed restricted affordable for-rent housing units, in apartments, townhomes, and Live-Work unit configurations. The goal of the architectural design is to blend with the community character and emphasize the ranching and Western spirit of northwestern Colorado.

“Prairie Run Workforce Apartments is the result of vision from the Town of Hayden’s Master Plan and Housing Action Plan to provide mixed-income, locals housing to serve the critical housing needs within Hayden. This housing will add security to the local businesses and workers that keep our community operating and make it such a special place to call home.”

Ryan Banks, Hayden’s Mayor.

“Gorman & Company is very excited to partner with the Town of Hayden to provide a variety of housing units affordable to a wide range of income earners,” stated Kimball Crangle, Colorado Market President for Gorman & Company. “We know that many current employees in Hayden are traveling into the community to work, and this development will allow people to live where they work”.
