Collaborative Partnerships Emerge to Fight Arizona’s Affordable Housing Shortage

Apr 24, 2024 | Accessible Affordable Housing, Arizona, Focus Area

Rehoboth Place II, a collaboration between Gorman & Company and Rehoboth Community Development Corporation, is the latest affordable housing community in Phoenix, Arizona, creating a roadmap to a brighter future.

The first phase of the project was completed in 2011. The second phase complements the original 47-unit Rehoboth Place Apartments and further closes the gap for affordable housing in the Canyon Corridor Neighborhoods for families earning between 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

Rehoboth Place II Features 66 Quality, Modern, Affordable Housing Apartments

After a little over a year of construction, Gorman & Company, in partnership with Rehoboth Community Development Corporation (Rehoboth CDC), held a grand opening ceremony for the new high-quality 66-unit affordable housing community in March, 2024. Rehoboth CDC is a faith-based organization committed to building collaborative relationships to create equitable, healthy, and sustainable communities to provide inter-generational prosperity within Urban Phoenix and Canyon Corridor Neighborhoods serving low and moderate-income individuals and families.

Another partner, Rehoboth Saints Center, acquired the land for the project. This collaborative spirit, thoughtful planning, and intentional design exemplifies how faith communities can contribute to solving the affordable housing crisis by helping to provide safe, secure, and equitable housing for hard-working Phoenix families.

“The decision to partner, with the Rehoboth Saints Center to acquire the land for the project and Gorman & Company to develop much-needed affordable housing, is a blueprint for how faith communities can bring solutions to the current affordable housing crisis.”
