Chris Laurent
SENIOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Chris Laurent is senior development manager at Gorman & Company where he is responsible for planning and executing the firm’s affordable and market-targeted communities. Chris and his colleagues work diligently to make sure that Gorman & Company’s community partners – mayors, alderpersons, planning departments, businesses, housing finance agencies, and neighborhood stakeholders – all have their needs addressed to the greatest extent possible by fully leveraging the firm’s and its consultants' abilities.

Chris joined Gorman & Company in 2003.  His previous work experiences include director of tax legislation and policy with the National Council of State Housing Agencies in Washington, DC and manager of multifamily development at the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, where he was responsible for Wisconsin’s allocation of federal Housing Credits and WHEDA’s $100 million direct multifamily lending program.  Chris started in real estate development in 1993 as project manager for a residential development firm.  His multi-disciplined experience supports Gorman & Company’s commitment to better understanding issues from all sides of the development process.

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin. He currently serves as president of the board of Porchlight, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides services and housing for otherwise homeless people in Madison and was appointed by the mayor to serve on the long-range planning committee for the Madison Community Development Authority.  He is married with two daughters.
