Chris Laurent
SENIOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Chris Laurent is senior development manager
at Gorman & Company where he is responsible for planning
and executing the firm’s affordable and market-targeted
communities. Chris and his colleagues work diligently
to make sure that Gorman & Company’s community partners – mayors,
alderpersons, planning departments, businesses, housing finance
agencies, and neighborhood stakeholders – all have their
needs addressed to the greatest extent possible by fully leveraging
the firm’s and its consultants' abilities.
Chris joined Gorman & Company in 2003. His
previous work experiences include director of tax legislation
and policy with the National Council of State Housing Agencies
in Washington, DC and manager of multifamily development at
the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, where
he was responsible for Wisconsin’s allocation of federal
Housing Credits and WHEDA’s $100 million direct multifamily
lending program. Chris started in real estate development
in 1993 as project manager for a residential development firm. His
multi-disciplined experience supports Gorman & Company’s
commitment to better understanding issues from all sides of
the development process.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Science from
the University of Wisconsin. He currently serves as president
of the board of Porchlight, Inc., a nonprofit organization
that provides services and housing for otherwise homeless people
in Madison and was appointed by the mayor to serve on the long-range
planning committee for the Madison Community Development Authority. He
is married with two daughters.
