POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:
Staff Architect

Staff Architect for Gorman & Company, a 25-year-old, multifamily residential development firm based in Madison, Wisconsin. (See our portfolio at www.GormanUSA.com). Position will lead the Gorman design team and produce working drawings as well as bid documents and specifications for a wide range of multifamily residential projects.

The position also will solicit proposals and select consultants required to produce documents for design, rezoning, development partners, municipal approvals and construction/bidding documents. Budgeting and cost management for the consultant partners is required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to organize and manage many projects in varying locations. The successful candidate will also demonstrate an ability to work successfully cross-departmentally – Gorman & Company has an “integrated” design, development and construction process.

State of Wisconsin architectural registration is required and NCARB certification is a plus. Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2009 also required. Other software proficiency required: MS Office Suite products including MS Word and MS Excel. Knowledge of the national, state and local historic preservation process is a plus. Property Manager
Overall purpose of position is to maintain the asset and achieve financial goals of ownership through superior customer service and effective management practices. Responsibilities include: establish and maintain relationships with all residents to maximize retention and occupancy; ensure consistent compliance with property policies; coordinate maintenance and care of building to include recommending improvements; hire, train, supervise, discipline, and ensure compliance with company policies for all on-site personnel; prepare annual budgets and assist with monthly financial reports; and oversee property’s marketing program. Successful candidates will have previous property management experience to include tax credit and/or Section 8, above average communication, negotiation and organizational skills, good computer skills and have a proven self-directed work style.

Maintenance Technician
Overall responsibility of the position is to maintain the property in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition. Successful candidates must have familiarity with electricity, plumbing and carpentry; a working knowledge of HVAC systems and various appliances; practice good safety habits; good communication skills; and own transportation.

Executive Assistant / Paralegal
Full time Executive Assistant with Paralegal experience needed for a Real Estate Development Company located in Oregon, WI. This is a diverse position that supports members of our executive team. This position will provide Executive Assistant and Paralegal support to the Company President to include speech and presentation preparation, review and interpretation of legal documents, follow-up contact with clients and constituents of the firm, organization of meeting materials and project information, and travel and meeting arrangements. This position will also support our development team on assigned projects. Responsibilities in development will include such things as producing applications for financing, coordinating development process checklists and managing documents for real estate closings. In addition to the above, this position will support our Director of Sales & Marketing in areas such as website updates, award nominations, preparing press releases and travel and speaking arrangements. We desire a professional who is very personable and a self-starter with above average communication and organizational skills. Candidates must be internet savvy and proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher. We offer a professional, yet fun atmosphere and seek employees with a “can-do” attitude. Leasing Consultant
Primary responsibilities include: Leasing apartments in accordance with company policies, establishing rapport with prospective residents, and assisting with marketing programs and market surveys. Experience with Section 8 and/or Section 42 paperwork is preferred. Successful candidates will have above average customer service and problem solving skills. Computer skills and great attention to detail are also desired.

PT Receptionist / Administrative Assistant
Part time receptionist/administrative assistant needed for a Real Estate Development Company located in Oregon, WI. We desire a professional who is comfortable greeting visitors; answering, screening and routing calls; and working on various administrative projects as needed. This is a permanent part-time position scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Noon – 5:00 p.m. Previous reception and clerical experience, along with a positive attitude are preferred.
