Gorman & Co. has completed the
Park East Enterprise Lofts, a live/work complex in the
heart of Milwaukee. The $12.5-million project was developed
in an effort to spur economic development and residential
revitalization.
The four-story building features a mix of live/work
units and apartments as well as 2,600 square feet of
retail space and common areas. Construction has not
yet been completed on the community's retail space but
is expected to end in spring 2007.
"This is the first residential development in
the downtown urban center in the redevelopment district,"
Tom Capp, COO of Gorman & Co., told MHN. "The
project has been made possible by an expressway that
was torn down. Its most defining feature is the combination
of separate residential and commercial doors to its
live/work units, which have signage on the street."
The 85 one-, two- and three-bedroom residential units
range from 795 to 1,290 square feet and rent from $565
to $1,125 per month. More than 75 percent of the units
are being offered below market rate. All units feature
central air conditioning and some include patios and
vaulted ceilings.
Amenities include a business center, movie theater,
fitness center, rooftop deck, two conference rooms and
a community room with a kitchen and fireplace.
